Top Selling Vacuum Cleaner of 2013
One of the major chores around the house is keeping those carpets and floors clean and tidy so no home should be without a vacuum cleaner. But these days there are so many different types and features that it can all get a bit confusing and buyers have to tread through the mire when finding the right one for them.
The first place to look though is in the bestsellers list because chances are if it sells well, it probably cleans well too otherwise the inevitable bad online reviews would dampen down the sales.
So here we look at the best selling vacuum cleaners over the last years based on Amazon's site.
Overall Best Seller
Maybe somewhat surprisingly, this title does not go to who you might think. Still the undisputed king of vacuum cleaners is the lovable Henry. It has been with us seemingly forever but the latest model has all the suction you could ever need.
The cheeky grin on the side may be cute but this things really does pack a punch and it's not too bulky or heavy to use around the house.
Obviously if you'd prefer a girl vacuum cleaner, you can get a Hetty instead. It's the same deal but in pink.
Upright Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
You may be surprised once again to hear that the best known brand in the marketplace didn't win this category either.
Instead that crown went to the Vax U90-MA-R which at around half the price of that “other” brand, has built up a loyal fan base and a huge number of positive reviews.
It is supposedly very lightweight compared to its main rival and has a high rating HEPA filter to suck up even the finest dust and dirt. This is great for allergy sufferers.
The multicyclonic technology in a VAX means that it doesn't lose suction and it will clean as well on the 100th try as it does on the 1st. And with an extra long cord and hose, you can get all around your house without having to switch plug sockets every 2 minutes.
Handheld Bagless Vacuum Cleaner
Yet again it is not the people behind the 'Ball' that come out on top in the handheld market. Instead, when people reach for something quick and easy to use for small jobs, they go for the Black & Decker Dustbuster – the classic handheld vacuum cleaner.
Obviously something like the Dyson DC44 Animal may have more power and a great battery life but if you just want something convenient and simple then a Dustbuster is all you need.
Great for cleaning out the car and for hoovering up crumbs after your child has just eaten.
Upright Stick Vaccum Cleaner
For small flats where storage is an issue, you can get a decent clean with a stick vacuum.
A different brand once again wins over the Dyson and this time it is Duronic with their VC600/B.
This super-lightweight cleaner has an 800w motor, no bag and can be stored in even the pokiest little cupboard. Even as a second vacuum it would be very worthwhile to save you having to get the main one out for quick jobs.
Wet-Dry Vacuum Cleaner
When there is real tough dirt to get up off of a carpet, you'll probably want to reach for a vacuum cleaner that can work wet aswell as dry.
In this department it is Numatic that come out tops once again with Henry's big brother Charles.
With a dual system capable of sucking up both wet and dry, Charles has aluminium pipes to avoid rusting and a safety system that prevents any liquid coming into contact with the motor.
Ideal not only for carpets but also for wet floors too.
